Transposing the SEA Directive in Austria
Currently, Austria is transposing the requirements of the SEA Directive into its legal system, both at federal and provincial level.
Already finished for the following pieces of legislation:

Transposing the SEA Directive in Germany
Germany has adopted two federal pieces of legislation in order to transpose the SEA Directive: (1) The amendment of the "EAG Bau" (came into force on July 21, 2004) and (2) the amendment of the German EIA Act ("UVPG"), adopted by the German Parliament on May 12, 2005 and by the "Bundesrat" (Chamber of the Laender) on May 27, 2005.
It is expected, that the EIA Acts of the 16 "Laender" will be amended soon in order to implement the SEA Directive's requirements.IAIA SEA Conference Sept. 2005 in Prague
From 26 - 30 September 2005 IAIA, REC and the Czech University of Agriculture have organized the first global conference on SEA in Prague. Almost 400 participants from all over the world (citizens from 80 different countries) took part in this scientific event, which was planned by the programme committee, composed of seven experts: Maria Rosario do Partidario, Barry Sadler, Jiri Dusik, Thomas Fischer, Urszula Rzeszot, Rob Verheem and Ralf Aschemann (An !dea). Practice - Organization - Trendshas taken place in Graz, organized by An !dea and the Austrian Federal Environment Agency. The congress dealt e.g. with "Integration of methodology into existing planning procedures", "Effective SEA processes" and "Public participation".
